Someone Else’s Shoes by Jojo Moyes (☆ ☆ ☆ )

If you are a fan of Jojo’s writing or past books, you will love this read. It’s the perfect mix of absolutely ridiculous and absolutely lovely. The story rotates between the two main protagonists, Nisha and Sam, and their support systems. Nisha is a scorned millionaire starting all over again while Sam is a basic (dare I say frumpy - this would be my one complaint of the book - why must mom characters always be portrayed as frumpy, timid, and consistently fashion-challenged?) working parent trying to hold her fraying family together. Their gym bags are accidentally swapped - switching Nisha’s sexy Louboutins for Sam’s basic black flats. Hilarity ensues and everyone’s lives are changed.

The romance in the book is mostly secondary to the power of female friendship and love, and that’s what kept me smiling all the way through to the end!

TW: divorce, domestic abuse
