Hi.

Welcome! I document my adventures in reading, writing, and drinking (mostly coffee).

The Shampoo Effect by Jenny Jackson

The Shampoo Effect by Jenny Jackson

Brief synopsis: Caroline Lash, an outsider, writer, and nepo baby, moves to a small beach town in Massachusetts and falls in love with a boy named Van. Van and his ex are having a baby, and their friend group is impenetrable to Caroline. Heartfelt drama ensues.

Review: 3.75? The writing was so earnest and sweet in this messy little friend and marriage drama.

I think this book is best suited for parents who are currently parenting young children (or have recently parented young children).

There is a bit about of a ‘happily ever after’ quality to it that felt a little far fetched, but I still enjoyed it. Summer vibes for sure.

Read if you like: old-school Marian Keyes - like her Walsh family stories or Emily Henrys Happy Place.
