Preorder?! New Neal Shusterman this December!

My daughter and I were recently discussing our love of the Arc of the Scythe series by Neal Shusterman and discussing how great it would be as a TV series or movie. We started searching online and discovered it IS in the works though reports are mixed - at first it was announced as a movie, then a tv series, and now maybe back to a movie again? Either way, I hope it comes through! This series is one of my favorite YA Fantasy series of all time. It was truly ahead of its time - confronting how AI/Technology and humanity intersect before the insane rise of AI we are currently seeing. As we were searching, we discovered Neal Shusterman is releasing a PREQUEL to the series called Rising Thunder. We immediately preordered it. 😂

If you aren’t familiar with the Arc of the Scythe series, I highly recommend. I am considering a reread of at least the first book before reading Rising Thunder!

Series Synopis: This series is set in the future, where death has been conquered and the population must be reduced via… other methods. The story follows Citra and Rowan as they become apprentices in the art of gleaning. They discover corruption and power struggles as they navigate their new world, questioning humanity and morals in a ‘perfect’ world. In Thunderhead,, the story focuses on powerful artificial intelligence known as the Thunderhead, which governs a seemingly perfect world.

Rising Thunder Synopisis: In this prequel, we are going to discover Thunderhead’s origin as the world in December 2042 marks the end of the Age of Mortality. As the concept of death ends, there is instability, and two powerful artificial intelligences are developing competing visions for humanity's future.
