Book Review : The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy by Megan Bannen
The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy by Megan Bannen (ββββ)
From Amazon: Hart is a marshal, tasked with patrolling the strange and magical wilds of Tanria. Itβs an unforgiving job, and Hartβs got nothing but time to ponder his loneliness. Mercy never has a moment to herself. Sheβs been single-handedly keeping Birdsall & Son Undertakers afloat in defiance of sullen jerks like Hart, who seems to have a gift for showing up right when her patience is thinnest.
Review: I thought this was an adorable and inventive romance/fantasy romance. It has sugar-sweet characters (Mercyβs family story is maybe the best part of the book) & a relatively predictable plot line. π
My only complaint is that the male protagonist fell into the grumpy, brooding man character, and I donβt always love that trope!
Content warnings: Death, Dying (Mercy is an undertaker.)
