Kindred by Octavia Butler - Fiction, Black woman time travels from the 1970s to antebellum South, confronting slavery and survival, tangled up exploration of race.

Beautyland by Marie-Helene Bertino - sci-fi vibes, alien girl navigates suburban America, decoding humans and loneliness and questioning her purpose on Earth.

Cherry Baby by Rainbow Rowell - new release from one of my favorite authors, a romance about a woman going through big life changes (divorce) and finding herself

The Future Saints by Ashley Winstead - Book of the Month pick for April, touted as similar to Daisy Jones and the Six, themes of friendship, AND another sister story.

Legendborn by Tracy Deon - Fantasy written by a Black female author, a secret society that hunts down evil, first book in a trilogy (maybe more books coming!) series, hoping it will be picked up as a show!

Forest Euphoria - The Abounding Queerness of Nature by Patricia Ononiwu Kaishian - non-fiction, queer positive, reminded me of the vibes of Braiding Sweetgrass (one of my all time favorite books), I love books that challenge what is “normal”

First-Time Caller by B.K. Borison - romance read, on SO MANY lists, promoted to be heavy on the banter and 2000 rom-com vibes!
