Some of my most recent book picks and gifts for the first part of 2022! I’ve included some phrases that attracted me to that particular book!

(Affiliate) Links and a few notes on WHY I want to read these books!

Sirens by Emilia Hart - I loved her first book (Wayward), strong female vibes, Irish history, sister story, and two alternating timelines.

The Future Saints by Ashley Winstead - Book of the Month pick for April, touted as similar to Daisy Jones and the Six, themes of friendship, AND another sister story.

Legendborn by Tracy Deon - Fantasy written by a Black female author, a secret society that hunts down evil, first book in a trilogy (maybe more books coming!) series, hoping it will be picked up as a show!

Forest Euphoria - The Abounding Queerness of Nature by Patricia Ononiwu Kaishian - non-fiction, queer positive, reminded me of the vibes of Braiding Sweetgrass (one of my all time favorite books), I love books that challenge what is “normal”

First-Time Caller by B.K. Borison - romance read, on SO MANY lists, promoted to be heavy on the banter and 2000 rom-com vibes!

Recent titles and additions to my Goodreads list that caught my eye:

Slanting Toward The Sea by Lidija Hilje - why: divorce, rediscovering life at 38, set in Croatia

The Borrowed Life of Frederick Fife by Anna Johnston - why: looks quirky and earnest, main characters are in their 80s

Eat Post Like by Emily Arden Wells - why: setting goals and reevaluating as things go way off track, loss of a partner and the grief that follows

Dolly All the Time by Annabel Monaghan - why: single and capable mom gets thrown off course, seems like a sweet romance

Making Art and Making a Living : Adventures in Funding a Creative Life by Mason Curry - why: my own personal goals, making art and selling books!

Thanks for checking out my lists! Let me know in the comments what you are reading!
